This is a fabulous book! Freedom At Your Fingertips is a treasure chest filled with quick, painless formulas to help clear away emotional issues and physical ailments. That may sound very simplistic, but EFT is so effective that it almost sounds too good to be true. Well it is good, and it is true, and it really works!

I chose to read the book from cover to cover even though it is designed as a reference book, and found it to be a fascinating discovery journey. I looked into EFT a while ago, (created by Gary Craig, engineer and Master NLP Practitioner) and found it to be very quick and easy to learn to use. I now use EFT regularly for different themes in my life. Some physical pain that I had for a long time just vanished. Some emotional issues also went away. Some of the changes are so subtle that they are almost indetectable, but there is this good “something different” quality present.

It is important to remember to take SUDS (‘subjective units of distress scale’ from 0 to 10 of the issue being addressed) before tapping so as to be able to really note the shift in energy that takes place.

How to Stop Smoking Using Eft (emotional Freedom Technique)

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is simply the quickest and most effective way to deal with doubts, obstacles, triggers, cravings, concerns, and emotions that most people who are quitting smoking have to deal with. Not only does EFT help make the transition to non-smoker easier, it better equips ex-smokers to deal with any stressful situations that may cause a relapse.

EFT was founded by Gary Craig, a Stanford Engineer, Ordained Minister and Personal Performance Coach. You can download a free how-to manual from his website (www.emofree.com). EFT is simply emotional acupuncture without the needles. Our bodies are made up of subtle energies. When negative emotions are present, it’s simply a disruption of the bodies energy system. With EFT you stimulate certain meridian points by tapping on them, and it tends to balance the energy flow in our body. EFT is simple to learn, gentle and easy to use, can be used anywhere, only take minutes, and has such great results.

Here are the EFT basic steps to Stop Smoking:

1. Write down all doubts, triggers, emotions, obstacles, and concerns you have about quitting smoking? (I doubt that I can quit smoking or quitting smoking is too stressful)

2. Evaluate the intensity level of each issue or emotion on a 1 to 10 scale (10 being the most). (Doubt – 8, Stress – 7)

3. Set up the affirmation and reminder phrase starting with the most intense issue first.

Affirmation – Even though I doubt I can quit smoking, I deeply and completely accept myself, or Even though I think quitting smoking will be too stressful, I deeply and completely accept myself.

Reminder phrase – My doubts about quitting smoking and My stressful feelings about quitting smoking.

4. Begin tapping lightly on the following meridian points on one side of your body using your index finger and middle finger with either hand, as you speak the phrases out loud. (To view a chart of the tapping points go to www.mindbodytapping.com)

Karate Chop – “Even though I doubt I can quit smoking, I deeply and completely accept myself.” (Repeat 3 times). Eye Brow (Beginning of your eye brow near the top of your nose) – “My doubts about quitting smoking” Side of the eye – “I doubt I can quit smoking” Below the eye – “My doubts about quitting smoking” Under the nose – “Doubt I can quit smoking” Middle of the chin – “All the other things I have tried did not work” Under the collarbone – “I really just doubt I can quit smoking” Under the armpit – “My doubts about quitting smoking” Top of the head – “Doubt I can quit smoking”

5. Take a deep breath.

6. Re-evaluate the intensity level of the issue using the 1 to 10 scale.

7. Tap a second round (Continue tapping as many rounds as you need to reduce the intensity level of the issue below a 3).

8. Move onto the next emotion or issue startingwith the Evaluation #2.

9. Once you have removed all of your doubts, fears, concerns, and obstacles, you are ready to quit smoking. 10. For the first few weeks, use EFT at least three times each day to deal with any emotions,or issues that come up.

Tapping Away Disallowing

Disallowing, getting in the way of our own allowing, is often a function stuck beliefs. These beliefs can be that we have to work hard, be busy, deserve what we get, or any number of other things. Many times, without being consciously aware, we become so involved with disallowing that we simply fail to allow.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping is a great way to release the energy around disallowing and to simply let the allowing happen. Allowing is our natural state and it is our blocks that have us disallowing.

What follows is a Tapping sequence which can help release or dissolve the energy around disallowing. In using the following script, and without going into the details of how to do EFT, the tapping points are noted in parentheses. You should tap these points while speaking the phrases shown out loud. Speaking out loud and with emotion do improve the effectiveness of the technique.

Note that results may vary from person to person.  If you are unfamiliar with Tapping, you can get a great background online by just looking up Emotional Freedom Techniques.

Here is the script…before beginning, check in with yourself. How strong is the feeling that you are unable to allow? Rate that strength on a scale from 1 to 10, where 10 is a feeling that couldn’t be any stronger and 1 is barely perceptible.

(Side of the Hand)-Even though I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

-I deeply and completely love and accept myself,

-Even though I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

-I deeply and completely love and forgive myself,

-Even though my desire just won’t manifest,

-No matter how hard I try,

-And I am feeling frustrated,

-And I am feeling worried,

-I really need this manifestation,

-I know that the Universe responds to my thoughts,

-And I have been thinking about this for a long time,

-And I really want it,

-But I just seem stuck,

-And I can’t allow this desire to come around,

-It seems like the more I want it,

-The further away it is,

-So, I feel stuck and I don’t know what to do,

-But, even though I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

-I deeply and completely love, forgive and accept myself,

-And anyone, or anything else that may have,

-In any way contributed to this.

(Eyebrow Point)-I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

(Side of the Eye)-I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

(Under the Eye)-I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

(Under the Nose)-No matter how hard I try,

(Under the Mouth)-I just can’t seem to allow my desire,

(CollarBone Point)-And now I am frustrated,

(Under the Arm)-Now I am worried,

(Top of the Head)-Because I really need this desire now.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-I know that the Universe hears me,

(Side of the Eye)-I know that, according to Abraham,

(Under the Eye)-If I can desire something,

(Under the Nose)-It can be manifest for me,

(Under the Mouth)-So why is this so hard,

(CollarBone Point)-Why can’t I get this thing,

(Under the Arm)-What am I doing wrong,

(Top of the Head)-Because I really want it.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-I know that if I had my desire,

(Side of the Eye)-It would make me happy,

(Under the Eye)-It would make my life better,

(Under the Nose)-It would make other people’s lives better,

(Under the Mouth)-I would be so grateful,

(CollarBone Point)-I could relax and really enjoy it,

(Under the Arm)-I could have fun,

(Top of the Head)-I could be at peace.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-But I just can’t allow it,

(Side of the Eye)-Maybe I am just working too hard,

(Under the Eye)-Allowing does mean allowing,

(Under the Nose)-It doesn’t mean forcing,

(Under the Mouth)-And maybe I am pushing a little hard,

(CollarBone Point)-Maybe I am wanting too much,

(Under the Arm)-But I do want this,

(Top of the Head)-But maybe I need to relax a little.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-Maybe I need to really believe in the Universe,

(Side of the Eye)-Maybe I need to let the Universe deliver,

(Under the Eye)-I could try just breathing deeply and enjoying myself,

(Under the Nose)-I could just accept that my desire is sufficient,

(Under the Mouth)-And that the Universe does hear me,

(CollarBone Point)-And that the Universe does deliver,

(Under the Arm)-The Universe never misplaces an order,

(Top of the Head)-And I placed my order.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-Since I placed it,

(Side of the Eye)-Maybe I just need to wait for the delivery,

(Under the Eye)-And not spend so much listening to my doubt,

(Under the Nose)-Listening to my left brain chatter at me,

(Under the Mouth)-Maybe I could be peaceful and happy,

(CollarBone Point)-Just knowing that my desire has be fulfilled,

(Under the Arm)-My order is filled,

(Top of the Head)-It is just on the delivery truck now.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-Maybe I have been so busy trying,

(Side of the Eye)-There has not been any time for the delivery,

(Under the Eye)-So maybe I should try less,

(Under the Nose)-And just listen for the doorbell,

(Under the Mouth)-I can make some space in my life for my desire,

(CollarBone Point)-I can listen to the quiet and wait in peace,

(Under the Arm)-I can try less and be happy,

(Top of the Head)-I can be happy while I wait.

-

(Eyebrow Point)-That truck will arrive soon,

(Side of the Eye)-And in the meantime,

(Under the Eye)-I can be grateful for such a perfect system,

(Under the Nose)-I can be grateful for my life now,

(Under the Mouth)-I can be grateful for the contrast that I experience,

(CollarBone Point)-That lets me want this,

(Under the Arm)-I am excited about my desire being here,

(Top of the Head)-I am gratefully and joyously allowing my desire now.
