Andrew Fogg :

I’ve been reading a lot on the web recently about people getting success using Emotional Freedom Techniques – EFT to improve their golf and overcome and overcome their golf psychology problems. So, I decided that this week I’ll write a few posts about what EFT actually is, how you use it and how to use it for better golf.

To quote Gary Craig who invented EFT, “It often works where nothing else will”. It’s used a lot by hypnotherapists to supplement their trance work with clients. I learned about it from Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler on my NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner training courses. And I’ve seen Paul use it in combination with hypnosis when working with clients. It’s easy to apply it to yourself and the basic technique is very easy to learn.

Put simply, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is an exciting breakthrough in therapy and personal development. It is a new treatment tool for anxieties, fears, trauma, procrastination, addictions, weight loss and much more. It uses an easily learnt process to transform any issues blocking emotional happiness or personal achievement.

It is one of the new Energy Psychologies people are developing primarily from the ancient Chinese meridian energy system. EFT uses a form of acupressure often referred to by its advocates as “acupuncture without needles” and is based by its creator on the premise that all negative emotions are the result of a disruption in the body’s energy system.

The practitioner clears blockages or disruptions in the body’s energy systems by directly tapping with the fingers on the client’s head and upper body at key end points of the body’s energy meridians while focussing the client’s thoughts on the specific psychological issue they wish to change. The tapping sends pulses of energy to rebalance the body’s energy system in relation to the client’s thoughts and specific issue. Shifting energy changes the way the brain processes information about a particular issue, and so tapping while tuned in to the issue is in effect rewiring or rerouting the brain’s conditioned negative response. This is generally very liberating for a client suffering conditions like a phobia or traumatic memory. EFT also works in the same way to release the limiting thoughts and beliefs that obstruct the client’s success, happiness, health and inner peace.

EFT is the work of Gary Craig, an engineer by training, resulting from his interest in the success of Thought Field Therapy, a complex set of processes that Dr Roger Callahan developed in California. He took the complexity of TFT and simplified it into a straightforward “one size fits all” process to create EFT.

So that’s broadly what EFT is and where it comes from.

Attract Money Beyond Belief with EFT

Anita Hamasaki:

Tapping to improve all areas of life, tapping for wealth and abundance. It seems to be a very strange procedure, this tapping business, far too embarrassing to do in front of others, best to practice alone, for it does look rather daft.
The tapping technique could be applied to any area of your life, be it phobias, health issues or whatever. Brad Yates led a group including Dr. Joe Vitale (one of the speakers on the movie The Secret) talking of the fears of money and other issues people have with money. While he speaks you are led to tap certain areas of the body. The side of the hand, the edge of the brow, the edge of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, under the mouth, collarbone, a few inches below the arm pit and the top of the head.

Other points are brought into play when the above points fail to produce the desired results. When you tap you use two fingers at whatever place he says in the order I’ve listed above. Doesn’t this whole thing sound odd? Well there is actual science behind it. It has to do with the energy meridians running through our bodies. (I’ll get into that more later)

What I really want to tell you is how utterly terrific, fabulous and fantastic I feel right now. I finished the session about 30-45 minutes ago. I can do anything! Oddly enough as soon as I finished the session, I went right out and accomplished a task I have been putting off for over a year. I finished it within twenty minutes. All the stress of carrying that around and wasted time that I strained my brain about it and within twenty minutes I had it done and off my mind. Such a small task but a huge accomplishment! At this point I feel I could do anything!

The idea behind EFT is that negative emotions can cause disturbance to the body’s energy field. When our body’s energy is not flowing properly, it can cause psychological blocks or even physical illness and disease. When certain areas on our bodies energy meridian are ‘tapped” and our negative beliefs are voiced at the same time, the negativity can be released. Once a body let’s go of this negativity true healing can occur, both psychologically and physically. These energy points coincide with the ancient Chinese acupuncture points. EFT has been used to heal all sorts of issues such as phobias and a huge range of illnesses. This technique can even release our negative issues regarding money so we can bring on our abundance through the Law of Attraction. Quite often our negative issues regarding money can block us from reaching our full financial potential.

Eft tapping has produced outstanding results for seemingly incurable diseases. It  has helped many overcome their fears, phobias, and anxiety, just by tapping on the energy points and releasing blocked energy, truly amazing.

Laura Whitelaw :

Addiction can show up in many forms and is described as an obsession or compulsion towards abusing a substance such as alcohol, nicotine, drugs or even food. Psychological addictions are just as common and include addictions to video games, sex, gambling, work or pornography. People who are addicted often feel imprisoned by their obsessions and therefore unable to stop. But, there is a very effective addiction treatment known as Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT.

Overcome Feeling Powerless

As mentioned above, addiction sufferers often feel powerless and stuck when it comes to their addictions. The fear of not being able to cope without the substance and, feelings of deprivation often come to the forefront when someone tries to “kick” their habit. There are always underlying emotional reasons that drive the addiction, turning it into a vicious cycle. EFT can help to counteract underlying emotional drivers that addicts suffer.

Conquer Cravings

With substance abuse addictions, cravings can overcome someone who is trying to kick their habit. Addiction recovery is possible with EFT as both the physical and psychological components of the cravings can be defused. We do that by addressing the physical sensations, beliefs and attitudes that arise with the cravings by tapping on various acupressure points on the face and body.

Neutralize Withdrawal Symptoms

Withdrawal symptoms for some addictions can be quite debilitating and range from sleep disturbances to shakiness and an inability to concentrate. These types of symptoms make quitting very uncomfortable because the addict is unable to function as they did before as they went through the withdrawal period. When successfully applied, EFT can effectively neutralize any physical withdrawal symptoms that surface.
